Is there any way to hack on the Sparkle code to add an extra step before installing the update? Maybe what you could do is add in a checkbox and text field into the sparkle dialogue that checks the user's current version, and if they require an upgrade, add in a confirmation checkbox: Default Folder [new version #] is a paid upgrade. <Buy now> <More information> Continue and install this upgrade? [ ] Yes Totally off the top of my head, but I don't think expecting users to read the release notes is prudent. User experience research has shown that the vast majority of people completely ignore the text that appears in dlalogues and immediately click on whatever button looks like the most likely to get rid of the dialogue, or they have a "OH SHINY" response and grab the download without reading. Adding in a small roadblock might help; I've seen stuff like this work well in other projects. Neil
