Hi Steve, If I understand correctly, you're looking to find out if maybe one of your apps has been cracked and you don't know it?
A sure-fire sign... google recommendations. Type in "NetworkLocation" into a safari google search field, and up comes suggestions for serials and cracked copies. That one bugs me. A lot. Try putting yourself into a pirate's shoes. What would they look for? There are a few forums, torrent sites, and even twitter accounts where pirated software gets linked to. Look at referrers on your site. One of those forums consistently lists in the top 20 for me. I thoroughly enjoy watching those guys beg for a new cracked version of the app after I release updates. (I may as well get SOME enjoyment out of this process :P ) Basically, keep your eyes/ears open, and go looking for it every now and again. Every time I find a cracked version of the app, I'll download it and look at what they've done to circumvent our protection. Mostly for my own curiosity... but once in a while we'll change how something works to give them a bit of a challenge. We try not to spend too much time on this process.
