Yes so how do I know what is a "legitimate result"?
Here are a few that I know nothing about:

software.techrepublic.com
www.downloadplex.com
mac.wareseeker.com
www.roxysoft.com
mac.softpedia.com
feedraider.com
www.iclarified.com
mac.brothersoft.com
macmegasite.com
www.soft-go.com

How do I manage understanding these sites? Some of them just seem to be
another source but then maybe I am naive...

How do I keep track of these or understand what is legitimate and what is not?

Thanks for all of the helpful posts so far AND a special SHOUT OUT to Dave
Stafford who has gone the extra mile to help out!!
