How often do you buy a Mac Pro with multiple monitors? Every year??? And if you're concerned with price, do you really buy Apple monitors? (You can can get a really nice 30" Samsung for $1,260. Similarly for disk & RAM, you can do better. The only real savings is on the Mac.) Sure, just for the heck of it this morning, I toyed around and created a config where the savings topped $2,700. But let's not be silly and claim that we actually buy that kind of thing annually or--in the case of my example--ever at all, or that someone who was concerned with price would buy all Apple instead of saving even more by going 3rd party for some it. Look, the hardware discounts made me feel special too. And I will miss this insider's perk too. But the actual loss in $ value of the program is minimal at most, and for most developers most years it's an increase in value. -- Scott Ribe [email protected] http://www.killerbytes.com/ (303) 722-0567 voice
