It seems likely that a tab called "Downloads" no longer made sense for a lot of apple.com visitors. Certainly it is less important to Apple now than advertising a new device category. No matter the reason, if the site is driving less traffic we'll need to focus on other ways to market our products. In support of that, Fluid's recent featuring on Gizmodo reminded me of how effective sites outside the Apple circles can be. Gizmodo, Lifehacker and GeekBrief.TV drove far more traffic than the Apple blogs at the time and I saw a significant boost to my site's Google ranking following their stories. This seems to last for a long time, as two years later with my app's market all but eliminated its site still ranks highly for relevant keywords. Might be worth looking into if it's something you haven't considered before. Matt
