Not taken independently. This is just another data point in the overall trend. And the more data points accumulate to support the trend, the more one should be thinking about the ramifications of the trend. In any case, I’m not sure that this discussion is going anywhere, and I think I’m going to withdraw. (Nothing specific to you, Dave, just speaking in general.) I find the different camps around fascinating, and particularly that they’ve cropped up in a community that’s generally been fairly unified as technology has progressed. Actually, there’s some shades of the global warming issue in this, with everybody looking at the same data and yet reaching quite different “obvious” conclusions. As in that case, time will tell. In the end, we all have to make our own plans based on what we think the future holds.
