I'm not sure this would work, but I just had the thought that if you zip the 
file before sending it (but keep it's extension as you normally would so that 
you app is the designated app for that file type), then it should get through 
the mail filters better.

Then in your app, just ensure that you unzip the contents of the file before 
using it.
