By way of follow-up: The same troll contacted me again, with further extortionary threats (lower the price of my programs to $5 or else). I replied and told him, compete with my stuff all you want, and don't contact me again, and any further communication will be ignored. I also reported him again to the download site where his rants against my stuff first got started. I've had no response from the download site and am not optimistic about any real resolution there.
This is just plain weird. I've had e-mails from irate customers before, and flames from trolls, but I've never had a troll "take it offline" and harass me like this via e-mail.
