Unfortunately that person probably did not have the right to actually give you permission to use those icons. I went down this route with use of the iTunes icon in an app a couple of years ago. It was going to form part of an animation sequence where songs were added into your iTunes library with the icon used to represent iTunes. Not misleading the user or trying to misrepresent iTunes at all. I contacted Apple legal about it and they refused permission for the icon to be used in any way within our app. Now strictly iTunes isn't part of the core OS and might be under different licensing terms but the safest way here is going to be just to contact Apple legal. It only took about a week for them to get back to me when I wrote to them. Hope this helps.
