Actually I think the reason is another one: the Macworlds (of which SF is the last one left) is a local event visited by (more or less) locals. And for a local event with limited reach (except for press coverage) it costs a fortune, Apple but also smaller players like us developers (especially when you are not from California but Europe). Money that is maybe (!) more effectively spent for Apple Stores and Apple's website. Eric.
