and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Command_key Seems it's a pretty ancient symbol. Again, IANAL, but I bet you're probably okay so long as you've licensed whatever font you're going to use for it, just as if you were going to make your icon out of a simple Uppercase "A", or other common glyph.
