Hi all, The recent disruption in Apple's download site has resulted in decreased traffic for my website, fewer downloads, and worst of all, reduced sales numbers. As a result, I am now looking at different ways to drive traffic to my site.
Toward this end, I've done some significant tweaking to website recently and would like to get some feedback from this august body about it. :-) My goal is to convey the value proposition of my products in a quick, easy-to-digest manner that also invokes a sense of "Mac fit-and-finish." Feedback and suggestions for improvement would be appreciated: http://www.codebykevin.com I'm also planning some additional marketing/SEO ideas that should, hopefully, increase the Google presence of my products and improve my interactions with customers online and offline: 1. Revamping my blog to use a different blog engine that supports comments. 2. Adding an RSS feed from the user forum section of my site (currently it doesn't get much traffic). 3. Adding a "how-to" category to my blog to show my software being used to solve different problems. 4. Adding a Twitter account for my company for product announcements and news (i.e. links to reviews or articles about my products), and adding the feed to my site. 5. Adding an opt-in mailing list for product announcements, news, and possibly discounts. (I have tried this in the past just using regular e-mail, but I'd like to give the customer more control over signing up rather than e-mailing me to take their names off the list.) If anyone has any experience with these five strategies and would like to share their perspective, I'd appreciate it. --Kevin -- Kevin Walzer Code by Kevin http://www.codebykevin.com
