In Apple's last quarterly statement, Mac sales were up 33%. Mac sales have consistently grown in recent years. By contrast, iPod sales were down 1%. That's a product that has clearly matured, and is probably beginning a slow decline. It wouldn't surprise me to see Apple phase it out at some point. I think it's clear that the Mac is no longer the only game in town, and it has to share the stage--or even be overshadowed in terms of trendiness. But discontinued?
