I think the advice from others is spot-on.

Of course, in the future, you may want to consider coming up with an app name 
that is unique, and thus *can* have its own domain name.  That will make it 
easier for people to find you, even if it redirects to a page on your main 
company website.

Of course no matter what, you want to make sure that people find your app when 
they do a google search for it.

Some advice on that:  Just be sure not to duplicate the content between the 
page on your company and the app page.  In other words, don't have your app's 
home page showing up at http://www.foobarapp.com/ *and* 
http://mycompany.com/foobar/ ....  That's duplicate content, which is not good 
for Google.  Instead, do a 301 redirect (not 302 or something clever with meta 
tags or javascript) so that any links that you get to the app domain name feed 
through Google Juice to your main page for that app.
