HI Guys, Just to add my 2p to the matter. Individual Domain names work for SEO, I(in my non macsb life) have and have seen it used to greatly improve Google search engine rankings. The trick (along with the usual SEO stuff) is to get your most popular search term as a domain. So for instance myappformac.com is good. As far as I can tell this is as google assigns a weight to the domain name, one that you can easily profit from.
A good idea is to build a micro site around your app on the app specific domain. This should be a few(~4) sales and info pages, preferably branded to look like your main site, in fact I simply reuse any HTML templates that you have. This helps to maintain the corporate identity across applications. It should also link back to your main site. There is an article on 47Hats regarding this same issue, http://www.47hats.com/2009/07/optimizing-search-engine-rankings-with-microsites/.
