Not sure about a consensus, but I do believe that at least a basic inApp Help is a good idea. Also make sure that you have meaningful tooltips. After all this is not only to inform the customer, but also from keeping them to ask for support, thus lower your workload. That aside, demos, FAQ etc. still need to go online, IMHO.
