With the latest mactel patches (svn updated about 20 minutes ago) I can only get sound on my MacBook Pro 2,2 speakers if I check "Line In as Output" in the mixer (using gamix on Gentoo). I don't mind having a switch to turn the speakers on and off, but this seems a strange name to me. I only found it because I was randomly trying controls to see if I could make the speakers work.
