My macbook does not go to sleep with standard ubuntu 2.6.17-generic kernel. The problem is in the piix.ko module. The problem is the same on vanilla 2.6.18.2 with mactel patches.
I can sleep only if i compile without compiling the piix support (but can't read cdroms this way..)
