Hi Folks,

As apparently a few others have done, I decided to throw linux onto my mbp17...
I tried resizing with bootcamp but it complained about have to reinstall to
resize so I just booted with knoppix (ugh) and repartitioned with parted and
then installed gentoo... effectively nuking the hfs+ partition but not the EFI
GPT.

The question is,

How do I boot into linux without a boot cd?

I've got a kernel built and grub (out of habit) and lilo built but I don't want
to trash the EFI GPT by accident and my OSX install disk is about 1200km away
at the moment.

Did the guy (Mike Dougherty) who wrote the list about a month ago find a
solution... this seems to be a predicament for those of us wanting to single
boot linux on a macbook pro.

Thanks in advance,

-E
