Hi, I´ve had the best experience with the macbook_pro_v1_pin_configs on a mbp c2d and current (rev 124) mactel pacthes. My experience is:
macbook_pro_v2_pin_configs: same experience as described by daniel above sound is on, when i set "line in" as on "Center" is left speaker "LFE" is right speaker internal microphone working (sort of after toggling input source) macmini_pin_configs: decent output controls "Master" is internal speakers "Front" is headphones "Surround" seems to have no effect no support for internal microphone macbook_pro_v1_pin_configs same output controls as with macmini support for internal microphone, but "Capture" control ineffective for volume control "Mux" input has to be used. Also toggling once of input source still necessary. I haven´t tested line in recording yet though. So I would recommend the macbook_pro_v1_pin_configs for a MBP C2D at the moment, the macbook_pro_v2_pin_configs seem to be rather botched.
