Hey guys. Some quick info on latest expierences with my 2,2 ati.

I was getting insanely long delays until refit would come up (10 to 15
seconds). Installing the latest OSX 10.4.10 update fixed it somehow.
Sweet...

I just recompiled/updated to Gnome-2.18.2 and the module agpgart is making
video on fglrx extremely choppy. Well, it makes everything choppy even tho
glxgears report fast speeds with direct rendering enabled. This didn't
happen 2 days ago when using gnome 2.16.3.. Not sure what's up with that.
Keeping agpgart from loading and just using fglrx resolves the issue but no
direct rendering now.

Due to heat, my lappy finally burned itself out. Whatever is responsible for
charging the battery burned itself out anyway. The red light on my adapter
is always on and the battery just isn't getting a charge (in OSX or Linux).
Some of you may remember that I posted awhile back about the circut board
underneath the battery 'browning' along with heat 'stains' on the underneath
of my battery. Looks like it finally gave up the ghost.

If any of you are complacent about heat and have been ignoring reports here
about it, don't... I knew it was getting TOO hot from daily usage/compiling
but didn't really care and now it's toast. Literally. Either take steps to
keep heat down or you will more than likely be sending it back in. This is
my second time due to hardware failure. The first was a wrongly placed
keyboard and crappy superdrive. Now the new one has burned itself out along
with the superdrive never working very well.

I know it's been touched on before, but for any of you considering on buying
a new MBP, READ, READ, READ... Don't impulse buy because I, and others, have
had nothing but problems with these things... Make sure your fully aware of
existing problems else your going to be kicking yourself in the ass like
myself, sheer and others.
