hi guys. up until now, i'd only tried the standard kernel
suspend-to-disk and -ram. i've now also tried uswsusp with no luck.
i'm using 2.6.21.1+mactel in Debian Etch on my 15" MBP C2D.

i installed the standard uswsusp package and followed the instructions
in /usr/share/doc/uswsusp/README.s2ram-whitelist.gz to try to do a
successful resume. here's exactly what i did:
1) booted with the "init=/bin/bash" kernel option.
2) mounted all partitions with ``mount -a''
3) ran one of the following commands:
    s2ram -f -a 1
    s2ram -f -a 2
    s2ram -f -a 3
    s2ram -f -p -s
    s2ram -f -s
    s2ram -f -p
    s2ram -f -a 1 -s
after the mac suspended, i pushed the power button. i heard the usual
sound from the hardware (it's the cd-rom i think?), nothing happened,
and then a few seconds later that hardware sound happened again and i
got the rEFIt screen. i chose Linux and it booted into Debian as
normal (IE: the resume did not work).

i thought the "vga=773" option in /etc/lilo.conf might be causing
problems, so i commented it out, ran /sbin/lilo , and rebooted. the
font was huge as expected, but whenever i got to the end of the boot
process with "init=/bin/bash", and the keyboard no longer worked. i
rebooted half a dozen times with no "vga" option, with "vga=0", and
"vga=normal", but each time, the keyboard didn't work.

does anyone have any suggestions for how to fix this?

does anyone have any suggestions for suspend-to-ram on a MBP C2D?

cheers,
Nick
