The rant aside, what is the current problem with temperature on your MBP3? Did you read the linked thread? It seems to me most people do not have this problem anymore,

Installing today's updates, the MacBook gets extremely hot and automatically goes into standby. This looks like an emergency standby caused by the EFI or something because it got overheated. Unless you put a metal plate or something under it, the fan runs on highest level at full power, which is not the usual.
