It would be helpful if you would state the you have done testing and the results of those tests when you file a bug report. The more information the better.
Can you see if hal-applesmc shows? I believe that is one of the packages that is not in the standard repos already. It would also be good if you tried other tools besides synaptic (apt-get or aptitude). For everyone else's information... It appears that the dkms packages are only marked as being for i386. I believe these are all uploads by rydberg.
