There are two types of packages: those marked "any" and those marked "all". The "any" packages are compiled on every defined architecure, which in this case means i386, amd64 and lpia. Examples of "any" packages are hal-applesmc and gnome-power-manager. The "all" packages are valid for all architectures, and are therefore "compiled" on just one architecture, which in this case happens to be i386. Examples of "all" packages are applesmc-dkms and bcm5974-dkms.
