The version on my Mac now is from the Mac App store. It is kept
updated. Word is the only Microsoft app on the Mac. But all the apps are
installed on my Windows and I am not sure if it is worth the trouble to
remove all but Word.

Currently I subscribe to Microsoft 365 which runs on Windows and Mac.
Curious if anyone is running a stand alone version of Microsoft Word
for the Mac that you purchased outright?
No, I'm also using Microsoft 365 - the version that can be purchased
outright isn't kept up to date with new features as Microsoft 365 is. I
don't know whether it receives accessibility enhancements.
