Hello Donna, I've been following this thread and I am so glad you got everything up and running. What a chore.

I think some of my trouble was created by me. I had the “clever” idea Thursday night that if I could pair it with my old iPhone 7, which I still keep around as a music player, it wouldn’t connect to our home, but should be able to connect to our wireless network. My hope was that that would allow it to update, which would then allow me to reset it, and set it up again using my iPhone 14 pro. But, and I don’t totally understand this, when you reset a HomePod, it still holds on to some of your settings. So when I connected it to my Mac, it downloaded software version 17.2, which, though not the current version was current enough for it to connect with our home. But, it still seemed to have had stuff from the earlier pairing, so instead of updating, somehow it seems to have downgraded our Home software, which meant that nothing worked. I do know that something like that happened because after I finally got it to work yesterday, I was prompted again to upgrade everything to the new home infrastructure. At that point it was late, and I was tired, so I reset the HomePod and went to bed, leaving the Mini unplugged overnight and all the next morning. When I finally had time to get back to it, the setup worked. It got setup in our home, and then immediately updated. By the way, re your stereo, we solved that problem by buying a Sonos amp. My husband built a pair of speakers when he was in college, and to this day I think they’re some of the best speakers I’ve heard. So, even though we wanted to go to a wireless system, there was no way we were giving up those speakers. I don’t remember the price of the amp, but it works very well, and gives us the option of having my husband’s speakers in our Home setup. Just thought I’d let you know that’s an option, in case it’s of interest. 😊 Cheers, Donna > On Mar 29, 2024, at 11:18 PM, Mary Otten <motte...@gmail.com> wrote: > > So how did you get your problem resolved, Donna?
