Hey Larry, I actually agree with you here, that at times there's way more effort going on here than there should be, however, to be fair, a sighted user can't simply even click in an area of a webpage and have the page read to them from that point until the end.
They'd need to manually scroll the page down screen by screen with the mouse, via the scroll bar, as they read through the text visually. So While on the surface this may seem a bit over the top, what we can do by clicking the mouse at the start and end point, and then letting the Mac speak, would take a sighted user to continuously interact with the page as it were, to keep scrolling it. So it's not all that different in my opinion. As I said, I absolutely agree though, that the available convenience factor in this case would be a great help! <smile> Anyway, thanks muchly for your post!… Have an awesome day!… Smiles, Cara :) --- View my Online Portfolio at: http://www.onemodelplace.com/CaraQuinn On Mar 5, 2009, at 11:23 AM, Larry Wanger wrote: And, that's just nuts Apple. This is one particular area where JAWS is far and away better. Taking all of these steps just to read a full web page from one point to another is insane.
