Now for the long answers, smiley. Yes, I do have the Harvest Gold IPod Nano 16 GB from Apple Inc.. When you first turn on the Nano it asks you to select a language. You can just press the centre button to select English. This menu is the only one that doesn't speak. Note that this only happens the first time you turn on your Nano after a restore or setup. Next you set the voice and other attributes including the voice, rate, and others in the speech pane of System Preferences and not the Universal Access pane. If you have Voiceover enabled, ITunes will detect UA and sync the voice files to the Nano. If not it is a setting in the IPod pane of ITunes. This all can be done by a blind person, wink. I am legally blind and can't see the nano at all and find it very friendly like All of Apple's products.
