Sounds like that user has not been granted remote SSH access to that 
box. Not really a problem with the Mac itself. I know when I SSH to 
another Mac I have to enable that access in the sharing control panel 
and to SSH to another Mac as root I have to enable that via another 
setting. Probably need to do something similar in Ubuntu, but I have no 
idea how.
