we can't forget mike's mac series at http://www.blindcooltech as well, he
does a tremendous job providing detail and well paced tutorials on various mac
related issues with voiceover, and is definitely a good primmer.

I used his stuff when jumping out of windows in to mac last august and have
no regrets.

I remember that excitement!!! I remember I was at my parents' cabin when I
learned voiceover. we have dialup internet there so I was bored and was like
why not get started with voiceover! lol. so I sat there for two days and
listened and tried things and wrote rediculous amounts of questions to this
list and soaked it all in, lol.
the sites Ben mentioned are good, too. screenless switchers and
lioncourt.com. and then there's always apple's main accessibility page,
apple.com/accessibility/voiceover

        hey
you can find the users guide by pressing command VO f8. VO = control
and option held together. when the quickstart guide is on, voiceover is turned
off so to return to it press escape to stop quickstart guide and then of course
command f5.

Hi, welcome to the list, I'm sure you will enjoy your mac. The
first thing I would probably read is the voice over user's guide, that should
get you started.

the mac and the sound of the voice-over. and yes, i do know how to turn it on
and off lol which is a start.
