Tiffany- Your results for installing Leopard on a netbook depends on which exact model netbook you are buying. All of the netbooks are generally priced around the same range, so you need to buy one you are comfortable with - I'm sleeping on my decision to buy a HP Mini 1000 in the morning, but I know not many people have successfully gotten osx86 installed on that because it's a fairly new configuration, but I don't really care cause I thought the hp mini 1000 had the best keyboard out of all the netbooks I tried out.
You mention the Aspire One, that is one of the laptops where people have had successes. I know people have also had success with the Dell Mini 9 and the current MSI Winds. The thing you have to be careful about is that I presume you'd be interested in the sound working, and not all of the hardware configurations out there and not all of the osx86 builds have working sound drivers. And you need these modified builds mostly because they are necessary for installation and for OS X to even boot. Lastly, don't virtualize Leopard on a netbook. A netbook wasn't really designed hardware-wise for that, nor is it particularly nice with OS X or Vista natively, which is why most if not all netbooks only come with Windows XP or Linux. I know the overwhelming consensus is that Windows 7 (in the future) will be a worthwhile netbook OS, but let's face it. Netbooks are only for super simple tasks, and having an OS installed on there like OS X that is not optimized for the limited hardware like Windows 7 will be is an exercise in frustration. cheers, jane On Sat, Apr 4, 2009 at 3:44 PM, Tiffany D <[email protected]> wrote: > > Thanks Ben.
