thanks to mark and now alex for replying to me. I did try using vuscan on my 1.8ghz mini which has 1 gig of ram in it. Vuscan just kept saying busy when it was running or crashed on me a lot. I tried a few other programs that i discovered from my search for ocr on macupdate.com. I have ordered readiris version 11.0 through amazon of all places so I will be trying that app sometime next week.
