The answer is -- painfully! You'll need to use mouse keys. The
lioncourt.com link is working now, so try going to that page for
instructions:

http://www.lioncourt.com/2008/07/19/play-samples-on-audiblecom-with-voiceover/

The place to click is about 49 or 50 key presses to the right of the
"Sample" button on my MacBook. You can turn on mouse keys and move to
the right with the "o" key and hit the spot exactly, or you can do
what Josh does, and move using the trackpad or mouse and try to move
in a straight horizontal line, reading off the "x" pixel position with
VO-F5 (twice) and incrementing it by 45-50 units. I enable mouse keys
by setting up the Universal Access menu's Mouse & Keyboard tab
preferences to turn mouse keys on or off by pressing the option key 5
times in succession. There's a check box for this; go to System
Preferences and use the Universal Access menu. Read the instructions
that Josh gives, but move to the right (not left) and realize that the
"Listen" item has been replaced by "Sample". Ignore my detailed
comment unless you want to read about how to activate mouse keys --
that detailed setup method worked for the old page. Also, I've given
you the "sweet spot" to aim for, so if you're off by 5 or 6 screen
pixels you should still be able to press the to play/stop the sample.

Cheers,

Esther

P.S. The Audible Kids site has a player arrangement that is more
accessible and opens as a separate window, more like the UK site. But
it doesn't have most of the content.
