Today, I finally went to the Apple store with my mother and got my
Macbook fixed. The only thing is that while I got Apple Care, I never
registered it, figuring that since it was bought for me, that part was
already handled. Well, it turns out that it wasn't and so we had to
call Apple Care. The firsttime, after being put on hold, my mother
was hung up on. It was probably a mistake but it took up her mobile
minutes. So then, we used the landline from Apple and got someone.
It turns out that they never updated our information. This is the
second Macbook I've had. The first malfunctioned and I returned it
after one week. Then, theygot everything through on their end but our
local Apple Store didn't see the information, so basically, their
screen was saying I wasn't under warenty even though they knew it was
just activated. Finally, it came up and they fixed the Mac right in
the store. It was a keyboard problem after all so they put a whole
new top case on and now it works fine. But the whole process took 2
hours and 17 minutes by which point, my mother was extremely
frustrated to say the very least. And she's got high blood pressure
and a heart condition to top it all. Moral of the story? Activate
your Apple Care stuff as soon as you get it, even if you need sighted
assistance to do it. The people were very nice but it was a trying
experience.

All the best,
Eleni
