Hi James, I just purchased a new MB Pro. It generally does run quite  
cool, but certain tasks will get it to heat up a bit, but I've not  
noticed it heating to the point of being uncomfortable to hold or rest  
on your knees etc. I am sure there are tasks that will really get the  
processor to blow a sweat, but that is to be expected. However, yes,  
all this to say that it seems to run cooler. My employer gave me one  
of the prior generation MBs and it does tend to get warmer than my MB  
Pro.
