I'm not totally sure about this, but it seems to me that if you first insert something in the document body and then cut it to the clip- board, you can then paste it to the layout area and it will be located in relation to where you intend it to be.
You could also just do a cut and paste to the layout just to operate on the item, then cut and paste it back into the document where you want it. As I said in a prior post, I've noticed in their templates they have some things in the layout and others are embedded in the document body. So I'm confused as to when one should do what.
