Hello, Ive been teaching and writing about computers and related technologies for several years. I've been interested in the Mac since I heard the Main Menu show describing access to Tiger, and I finally bought a Mac about a month ago. I've had the inevitable moments of frustration that go along with learning anything new, but overall, I'm enjoying the Mac so far. I'm particularly grateful for Mike Arrigo's excellent podcast demonstrations and David Pogue's Switching to the Mac: The Missing Manual. I have a few questions, though, and I hope to be able to help others as I learn more.
My most pressing question at the moment involves running Windows on my Mac, something necessary for my job. I'm using Parallels because I didn't know it was inaccessible until after I bought it. My husband installed the Windows virtual machine, we got all the high priority updates, and it's basically working. However, when we tried to install JAWS, Windows attempted to restart during the installation and didn't come up again. The only way we could get it to restart was to restore to a point before we started installing JAWS. What do I need to do before installing JAWS? I assume some driver is required, but don't know what it is. Thanks for any help.
