I just had this same conversation with a colleague yesterday who noted how hard it was to navigate audio books in mainstream tools like iTunes (no scrubbing back and forth, playback rate changes, etc.) So I mentioned 'what about DAISY' and he said 'Can I get DAISY books from the iTunes store?' for which I think I answered correctly, no. So, picking up on the universal design theme, if we want the latest book content accessible, it would be nice if the content providers adopted some common chaptering/navigation system and made it available via itunes, amazon etc. This shouldn't be an accessibility feature at all but rather a great improvement for all users of audio books.
