After the disc has booted and you are presented with the language screen choose your preferred language and then when you get to the start of the install go to the utilities menu and choose reset password. this will present you with a dialog asking for the system disk on which you wish to change the users pw. choose the hd of the mac not the install disk and you will be shown a combo box with a list of users on that system. choose the appropriate one and fill in the fields as stated and hit the reset button (i think it is reset) if all goes well you "might" now have admin privs normally with a standard user you are presented with an empty password dialog box but when logged in as an admin the short name is already filled in.
