Mike, I get blind tech, gw-info, mac visionaries, garage sale, and
several other high trafic lists, and I never bother with filters.

I have all my messages grouped by conversation. When I delete a
thread all the messages in that thread go away. When I open a thread
all of the messages come up in seperate message windows in the order
that they are ment to be read and I just hit close to get to the next
until I land back in inbox. If I only want to read the first message
of a thread to see if it's of interest to me, I press right arrow on
the thread and that will expand it so I can get to individual
messages. I will be placed on the first unread message when I do
this. Usually this will be the first message of the thread.

I can further speed along my mail deleting efforts by interacting with
the messages table and going over to the subject column. Using the up
and down arrows I can browse through just the subjects, but if I want
to see who started a particular subject I just have to vo left once
and I'm in the from column for that message. Then I vo right and I'm
back in the subjects.

It is really snappy, as long as I don't stop to post long winded
replies every few threads or so, grins.

Have fun,
