I use a plugin called "Click to Flash". In Leopard this does a few things...
1. Adds a "click to Flash" menu in the safari menu that allows you to "load flash for front most window" and also has a preferences sub-menu that allows you to configure web sites you want to use flash with. 3. The shortcut control-command-f to load flash on the current page. My understanding is that it grabs ownership of the Flash MIME type, and assigns Flash a hidden MIME-type. By default it just puts up a box in the flash area and then if one clicks on the box, it reloads the page with a hidden flash MIME type so that the flash plugin handles the code then. It is quite slick, though I am not sure it has really sped up my browsing at all.
