Make sure you make a Time Machine backup just before you shut down

No. There are usually a few permissions problems. Don't worry about  
them.

Yes, there are always a few permissions problems.

You'll find that after the language chooser window, you won't see the  
Erase and Install option. Just go to the Apple menu and along to  
Utilities. Go down to Disk Utility and do the erase there.

As for languages, you can either just do a full install or customise  
and make sure to check all the languages you want. The appropriate  
keyboards will be available with the languages. I don't know whether  
they disappear if you remove a language.

You'll need the latest versions of any Infovox iVox voices you use,  
but these are a free update, so you just need to download them from  
Assistiveware.
