it'll probably do fine for your limited needs. as far as format checking, you 
can set VO to announce format changes and use that to format check the 
document. I just bought pages after being a die hard MS word/JAWS user. I still 
am, but I'm looking into Pages and it looks like it'll do a fair job for word 
processing.
