Pete, I believe you should be able to find some good historic references, and I don't use play lists much right now... However I wanted to make sure you know there are two kinds of playlists 1. Manual These are static lists of songs you add from your main library and don't change unless you change them.
Smart Play Lists: These are more dynamic, you could create a smart list of all songs by Peter, Paul and Mary that you have not heard in the last 60 days. Or you could create a smart play list of all songs in the album "The Wall". In either case you would start by creating the appropriate List from the file menu of iTunes. With the Smart Play List, you then have to specify a set of rules and if you want all or any of the rules created to be used for your list.
