Indeed there is, but it isn't a keyboard shortcut. Find a tweet from the person 
(use cmd-u if you don't have them in your selected tab already). Once you are 
on a tweet from them, move left or right until you find the "drawer". Interact, 
find and open the "user action menu", arrow down to "following status", hit 
right arrow to open it, and choose 'follow". It sounds more complicated than it 
is, but it still isn't as easy as a keystroke or menu command.
