So far, so good. I think editing the cells is better, particularly formulas. I haven't done that much yet, but I just edited a spreadsheet with the new one. One change I noticed, was that if you go to the menu and choose window, you get the choice of sheets. This didn't use to be the case. Mine said sheet 1 and sheet 2 before it said the file names that were in my windows. So far, this is ok.
