Hi, Eileen, which folder view are you using: icons, list, or column? Your method won't work if you have the folder in list mode. The most foolproof in this view is to press command-down-arrow on this folder while in list mode. Now you will be inside the folder and you can press command-option-v. You can expand folders in list mode, but this is only best for browsing purposes.
