Ok, thought I'd write this here in case it helps somebody else. First, put the driver installation file for the optic book 3600 onto a jump drive. Connect the jump drive to the vm. Make sure the scanner is turned on and connected to the vm, you should hear that usb connection noise. Go to your installation file on the jump drive and hit shift f10. Go down this menu until you hear troubleshoot compatibility mode Hit enter Check the box which says that the program worked in earlier version but doesn't run now hit next pick an earlier version of windows, we used vista hit next or run this program, can't remember which, but it'll be obvious The driver should install
