Brandon,
Thanks. I have not gotten back to this yet but will. I have been texting on the iPhone and when I have opened the conversation, I only need to get to the edit field and type in it. It does not work like that in Messages? When you say I interact with the table and select the one I want (which I have done), then activate the compose button, I still need to select the recipient? I can understand doing this if there are no conversations.

I sure will also try to chat using the steps you outlined. Thanks.

Once you're in conversations, you interact with the table. Then you can
navigate to find the conversation you want to reply to. If you want to text
someone via iMessage, you have to hit the compose button, then enter either
their phone number, or if they are in your contacts you can enter part of their
name. It will autocomplete if you hit down arrow.

Your buddies are listed in a separate window. Press command-1 to get into the
buddy list. Press enter on a buddy you want to talk to, and it will open a
conversation with them.

Hope this helps,
Brandon

Howdy,
After setting up Messages, I tried to figure out how to reply to a text. I
got into Conversations but that was as far as I got.

Also, after adding my google talk account, I could not see how to start that.

Appreciate some tips on this, thanks.
